Ken Wilson started his career in music at Arista Records as district manager where he coordinated with distribution, sales, promotion and marketing departments. There he worked with acclaimed artists such as Whitney Houston, Whodini, Aretha Franklin, and Kenny G.
Wilson continued his journey to Columbia Records where he served as Senior Vice President of Radio Promotions. He was responsible for the success of artists such as Mariah Carey, NAS, Lauren Hill, Maxwell, LL Cool J, George Michael, Wycleff, DaBrat, Jagged Edge, and more. He then sequed to MCA Records as President of Black Music where he oversaw the day to day operations of that music division. There Wilson signed K-Ci & JoJo of Jodeci, Rahsaan Patterson, Anthony Hamilton, and was a key contributor to the multi platinum success of both Mary J Blige’s “Share My World” album as well as New Editions “Home Again” project.
Ken Wilson’s dedication then landed him at J Records/RCA where he reported directly to Clive Davis as Senior Vice President in the Urban Music Division. Once again, Wilson played a key role in the success of artists Alicia Keys, Luther Vandross, Mario, Fantasia, Jamie Foxx, Busta Rhymes, Cassidy, Ruben Studdard, Monica and more. As his next challenge, Ken redirected his expertise serving as Senior Vice President of Urban Radio Promotions at Warner Bros. Records. There, he was responsible for urban radio airplay and marketing efforts while managing budgets and overseeing the field staff. He was instrumental in the careers of Eric Benet, Seal, Mike Jones, Jay Rock, OJ The Juiceman, Shawty Lo , New Boyz of “Jerk” fame & V.I.C. with his cult dance record “The Wobble”. Now with The Franchise Music Group, Ken continues to elevate well known artists (Beyonce, Maxwell, Ledisi,Janet Jackson, J.Cole,Johnny Gill, Tank, Fantasia, JOE, India.Arie) and new rising talented artists (The Bonfyre, Rockie Fresh, Leslie Odom, Jr., Kelly Kalosa, Ollie Gabriel, Yellow Tape, Tia P., CoNero, KIY, Crystal Cruz).
